ABOUT THE WHISPERING WOODS GARDEN MAINTENANCE PROGRAM:
Looking for some great outdoor fun? Everglades is always looking for Girl Scouts to help maintain and clean up our Girl Scout gardens at Whispering Woods Park in Coral Springs. We have several garden areas at the park which need routine maintenance and we are looking for troops help on a monthly basis. The garden areas need weeding, watering plants, tending to misplaced bricks, rocks, etc. Troops are also encouraged to add plants, rocks, decorated bricks or other garden elements to the gardens and can tie projects in to troop badge and program activities.
There are many outdoor opportunities you can take advantage of while working on the gardens. Daisies can work toward their Daisy Flower Garden Journey or Make the World a Better Place petal. All levels can work towards their Art in the Outdoors badges or use the walking trail or fitness playground to earn Outdoor or Athletic badges. Any work done at the gardens also counts towards the Service to Girl Scouting Award for CSAs.
Contact Bridget Jacobson [email protected] with any questions.

ABOUT THE WHISPERING WOODS GARDEN PROJECT:
The Whispering Woods garden project began in 2012 as part of Girl Scout USA's 100th Anniversary Forever Green Community Service Take Action initiative. Each year girls and adult volunteers return to the garden to maintain and enhance it. Being able to sustain a project after its initial creation is an important part of Girl Scout Take Action projects and was a commitment of ongoing service these local Girl Scouts made to the City Of Coral Springs when developing the garden at Whispering Woods Park. |
